MANJHEE VALLEY TEA ESTATE

Welcome to the Valley of the Gods

The teas that you are about to taste have made a spectacular journey steeped in legend and backed by expert care. While the name “ Manjhee “ tells a heart-warming story, the quality standards and the ultimate rich experience is very real.Legend has it that a gaddi, or a shepherd as they are known in Himalayan mountains, fondly called Manjhee helped cross a raging river, that flows by the tea estate and factory. They so relied on Manjhee’s help that the river was named after him. The tea factory and the estate provided employment and support to the local populace and was aptly christened Manjhee Valley, which has now witnessed more than 100 years of history and folklore.

Sprawled across 650 acres, this bio-diverse tea plantation was begun by the British early planters, over a century ago. It nestles comfortably on the lap of the mighty snow-capped Dhauladhar ranges in the Kangra region of the Himalayas. Like a maestro, this jewel occasionally pulls a veil of mist around it when working on its masterpiece, the First Flush. Born of two leaves and a bud, it eventually turns to liquid gold in teacups across the world. Savored by many in France, Poland, Singapore, London, Spain, Germany, Holland and Japan to mention a few.To the world of tea, Manjhee Valley brings a wide variety of exciting flavors, each varying in experience. Grown in Kangra Valley, the Valley of Gods, the teas cultivated range from the fragrant exquisite First Flush, to the unique and the fine hand made teas, like the Valley of Gods Needle Tea, Morning Mist Flowery Green, maintaining uniqueness in cup, color, aroma and shelf life since it matures, like wine, with every passing year.
